Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, a former marketer for renowned gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy, has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. KOKA was arrested after allegedly making death threats against the singer.
The court set his bail at GH¢2,000, according to a report shared by UTV. A video accompanying the report showed KOKA leaving the court premises after his release.
The conflict between KOKA and Ohemaa Mercy is said to be rooted in a financial dispute. KOKA claims the musician owes him GH¢8,500, a sum he sought to recover as he no longer wished to work with her.
KOKA, who had worked with Ohemaa Mercy since 2021, was arrested in Accra after repeated police efforts to summon him for questioning proved unsuccessful.
At his initial court appearance on September 20, 2024, KOKA pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening harm. He maintained that his only goal was to recover the money he believed was owed to him, and he had no intention of causing harm.
