Kennedy Agyapong: I’ll Police Bawumia to Ensure He Delivers on Promises

Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has assured spare parts dealers at Abossey Okai that he is holding Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia accountable for his promise to introduce a flat tax rate for them when he becomes president. Speaking at a rally in Abossey Okai, Agyapong urged residents to support the NPP in the 2024 elections, saying he would be selfish not to campaign for Dr. Bawumia. He campaigned alongside Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate.

The NPP has promised to repeal 20 taxes and introduce a flat tax rate for spare parts dealers in their manifesto. Agyapong assured the crowd that he would ensure Dr. Bawumia fulfills this promise when elected. He highlighted the need for economic revival under Dr. Bawumia’s governance and recognized the struggles of Abossey Okai businesses, particularly with port duties.

Agyapong passionately appealed to the crowd to support Dr. Bawumia, citing the promise of economic prosperity. He criticized the NDC for failing to address Ghana’s challenges during their regime, while the NPP has introduced social interventions. Despite current economic challenges, Agyapong believes the alternative would be detrimental for Ghana’s youth, which is why he supports Dr. Bawumia.
